New baby

I am pooped! Yesterday, we adopted our new baby girl Lola. She is 8 weeks old and weighs 3 lbs. In May, there was a huge rescue at a commercial dog auction in OH. Lola's mom was one of the 40 Havanese rescued and she delivered her three babies in foster care. We adopted her through HALO, the same organization who saved Max. They are fantastic! Max isn't sure of her.

Jet Pens

I LOVE Jet Pens! This is a great site to check out if you love pens & desk accessories. I have always had a thing for pens & markers. I remember in middle school getting my assignment notebook every fall & begging my mom for the Mr. Sketch fiddlesticks markers. I would hook them on the cover, in rainbow order, and add stickers and mechanical pencils. I would doodle in these notebooks and I treasured the markers!

Anyway, Jet Pens is a site I check out often. They sent me this cute little elephant breakable eraser to write about.

I asked my daughter her thoughts since she collects these erasers. She thought it was cute and added it would have been better with more parts. The thing with these erasers us that they "break" apart and you can mix the pieces up and create something new. I took the unicorn head and attached it to the elephant body --- a uniphant! Or an elecorn!

I LOVE the Uniball Signo white pen they sell. I buy them by the boxes!
The Latte pens come in great cord and the tips are micro mini for great detail and doodling!

My other favorite purchase from Jet Pens is this awesome pen/pencil case by Dr. Ion. It holds a mass amount!

Party!

This is my 2nd year participating in the Where Bloggers Create Party! It's so much fun checking out the other blogs.

My space is in our basement. It is small, but it works. I wish I had natural light and a sink. Maybe one day!

Right now I am into journaling and creating mixed media paintings. Some of my work is in a gallery in Hinsdale, IL where it is for sale. I clean up when the mess becomes too much for me to take, but it quickly becomes messy!

Max, my Havanese, keeps me company whenever I come down here. He was rescued from a puppy mill & is a fabulous man!

Stamps

I'm getting back into carving my own stamps. The imperfections make them perfect! I'm loving the fact that over the last two years, I have moved away from making my art look exact or perfect. I now believe if you want your work to look machine made, go buy it . I guess this is why I truly enjoy binding my own journals & the entire process that goes into it!

Happy Birthday!

Summer vacation is taking over my life! I've been home with my kids for the last month having fun. The weather, here in IL, has been insanely hot!

Gia turned 8 this past Sunday. I can't believe she is 8 already! We moved here when she just turned 3 & I am amazed we've lived here for 5 years. Her dinner choice was Kiku and we had tepanaki. Always yummy!

I'm still working on my painting for the Whimsical Characters class. Just not finding the time to finish it.
Time (the lack thereof) definitely is a theme of mine.
